Year 1998, Rodoman first discovered love for flaring and later moved focused and mastered bartending. He took part in various competitions in Russia and other countries with outstanding awards such us ten-time champion in flaring (Russia), two-time world champion in flaring and world champion in classics in Warsaw. Rodoman also previously worked with top beverage companies such as Henessy and was a corporate barman and head of Bacardi flaring school. Today he is currently the project manager and organizer of BarShow.ru, an award-winning, topnotch barman show with exemplary team members.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. When and why did you decide to work as a bartender and what do you love most about your job?
First I was inspired by Flair, it was in 1998, after that I began to master bartending, to take part in various competitions both in Russia and in other countries.
2. What was your funniest moment as a bartender?
There was this man came who came to our bar and drank the same drink, it was cognac. Every barman who worked with us tried to offer him something new, and he always refused. Then we decided to offer him a drink for free, at the expense of the institution. We offered him island whiskey. This man, after the incident, did not come to us for a long time. We already thought that he was very upset of what happened. But after a long time he came back, and said that after the free drink we offered him, he felt that he doesn’t know anything about life and changed attitudes toward what was happening, met a girl and got married.
3. What is your favorite drink and why? What is your last creation?
Everyone knows that the tastes vary depending on the age, season, time of day, etc. Now I like the Clover Club cocktail, I like gin-based drinks, where the berry perfectly matches with gin. For my part, I want to offer you a cocktail that was coined several hours ago and the test name is Tambourine.

4. What is the best bar you have ever been and why?
I do not like big bars. I wanted a place that do not just simply serve drinks but offers you a great atmosphere to relax and chill. For me, the best bars I’ve been to, 1. Моscow- Mitzva Bar, 2. Prague- Tretters Bar, and 3. Amsterdam- Door 74.
5. Where do you get your inspirations from? Is there a person and why?
Being in this industry, our profession relates to getting achievements. I like to visit various competitions and track the skills of colleagues through social network and share experiences with them.
6. What is your advice for someone who wants to work as a bartender?
A man who has decided to connect his life with the profession of a barman, must understand that it will not be easy and must patiently master it. One should take note that communication with guests is key. Know everything about his own bar and learn everything that happens in the world, and not only with drinks
7. Whiskey or Gin?
With the very diverse world we have, I did learned about whiskey which I cannot exclude in our industry. But as I stated I am a gin guy. So GIN for sure!
