1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. When and why did you decide to work as a bartender and what do you love most about your job?
My name is Andika Pradnya. But you can called me Andi. I’m from Bali, Indonesia. But I am currently working at Cavalli Club in Dubai as a Flair Bartender for the famous brand from Milano Italy, Roberto Cavalli. Bartending is the most amazing job ever. I don’t even have the words to say how much I love my job and of course my customers. I started my career way back 2014. I worked behind the bar. I also been in so many competition both national and international in flaring and mixology. I love mixing drinks! I used to flair while I’m making drinks to entertain customers so they will come back again. Over the years, I made friends with numerous business people such as restaurant and hotels owners. Also made friends with big famous singers, actors, actresses and many more. I believe that the bar is one of the few places where any type of individual can be a guest. Regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, socio-economy, famous or not or even gender. You never know who is going to walk into your bar but I’m sure it will be someone interesting. And I love this job when I’m mixing drinks while flairing. All the customers look at me, take videos and photos. I feel like I’m an actor like Tom Cruise!
2. What was your funniest moment as a bartender?
Back when I first started working in a bar. It was very busy! I don’t know how or who will I get their orders first. All of the people asked, “Buddy! Take my order first!”. I’ve been standing there for like 30 minutes, I was so confused and I don’t want to be in that situation again. After that, I strived to learn and handle similar situations.
3. What is your favourite drink and why? What is your last creation?
My favorite cocktail is a Negroni. Because it is simple and balance, it’s perfect! The histroy behind the Negroni is very interesting. My last creation drink is called Diamond Jubilee, inspired from Frank Sinatra’s Diamond Jubilee Tour 1990. That’s a cocktail I present for Cavalli Club.

In the beginning, I was so inspired with the Cocktail movie by Tom Cruise. So I would like to thank you Tom Cruise 😉
6. What is your advice for someone who wants to work as a bartender?
The bartending is a passion, that requires creativity, attitude, responsibility, knowledge. It’s not only about mixing drinks. Never stop learning if you want to be the best bartender.
7. Whiskey or Gin?
Your Answer: Well actually I like both but I preferred gin because my psychologist are saying that a particular liking for bitter tasting food and drinks like G &T or other drinks could be an aperitif with gin based. I do love gin more.
